Isaiah 11:12 (ESV) “He will raise a signal for the nations and will assemble the banished of Israel, and gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.” Commentary: God specifically used the phrase, “four corners of the earth,” but you’re going to tell me he didn’t mean “four corners of the earth.” What then did he mean? How can God possibly refer to four corners of a ball? Who in all of history has referred to the corners of a ball? No one, and God is the master of language.
Isaiah 41:9 (ESV) “You whom I took from the ends of the earth, and called from its farthest corners, saying to you, ‘You are my servant, I have chosen you and not cast you off’.” Commentary: How do you explain away the “corners” of the earth? A metaphor does not work here at all.
Job 37:3 (ESV) “Under the whole Heaven he lets it go, and his lightning to the corners of the earth.” Commentary: Since when does a sphere have corners? Tell me.
Revelation 7:1 (ESV) “After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, that no wind might blow on earth or sea or against any tree.” Commentary: Even the Heavenly angels in the last days during God’s judgment will be talking about “the four corners of the earth.” And if that wasn’t enough, they will be “holding back the four winds of the earth.”
