What would happen if christians in America did not know the Bible, or knew only some of it, and what they did know was shallow? What if christians went to church but let the pastor do all the studying and teaching, and they sat in the pews once a week to listen? What would happen if christians didn’t actually read or study the Bible seriously, and spent all their time working in their careers, making money, living to thrive in this world and seeking to live a quality life?
There’s nothing wrong with any of those things most Americans are doing. Going to church is good. Working hard to develop a good career is good. Attempting to thrive and support your family is all good. It’s what they are not doing that creates the grave risk.
What aren’t they doing? What is the lifestyle of millions of American christians today? Wouldn’t that really answer the question for us indirectly? Let’s quickly summarize the state of America today where these millions of christians live and work and raise their families. Let’s see exactly what impact the majority of American christians are having on their culture.
America is one of the richest and most powerful nations in the world, but all that wealth and military and economic power is no longer used for righteous causes. We have strayed far from our original constitutional purpose and lofty goals. America has become a modern day Babylon, and many theologians believe America may be the end-of-days Babylon in Revelation. Whether America is Babylon or not, there’s no question America has been a world leader in far too many evil empires, including, but not limited to:
Human trafficking, pedophilia, illegal arms trafficking, the sale of American national security secrets to foreign governments, political corruption never imagined, Wall Street fraud in the billions and billions, the growth of the military-industrial complex and $21 trillion in missing and unaccounted funds; satanism and the acceptance and promotion of satanic believes and activities, abortion in massive numbers (around 65 million); regime change around the world by our own black ops organizations, including the funding of our enemies by the billions of dollars; massive propaganda machines that exceed anything Hitler created in his time; the shredding of all personal freedoms with the simultaneous implementation of total control over education, media, and healthcare; blatant fraud in political elections in a system so corrupt, no one will prosecute the criminals; the persecution of truth and of christian beliefs and freedoms; government control over our childrens’ education, beliefs, and healthcare with an emphasis on evil and anti-God beliefs; the promotion of sexual immorality, including all manner of practices with virtually no boundaries whatsoever; the promotion of crimes and violence and chaos in cities; the placement of radical liberals who hate God in positions of authority in every level of government; the cooperation in evil agendas between government and big tech corporations; the condemnation of good people and those who boldly would express truth and oppose evil; the weaponization of the healthcare system against christians, the weaponization of pseudoscience against Bible believing christians, and government funding of anti-God rhetoric and of atheism.
The ten biggest churches in America all teach heresies, and are far from the churches that the Apostle Paul described. Out of the seven churches that Jesus addressed, he commended two (Philadelphia and Smyrna) and condemned five. Today, pastors seek fame and fortune, and they are some of the richest men in the world, although they are also very likely to be condemned for eternity in the Lake of Fire.
Obviously, much more could be written here about the Babylon that America has become. Evil now permeates America, our culture, and our churches, too. Christians, or at least people who claim to be christian, sit in church pews by the millions and listen to shallow messages, but more often than not, they listen to messages about how to get rich, how to be happy, and anything but living for Christ.
So then, it is no surprise that the masses of those who claim to be christians know little to nothing about the Bible, about doctrine, and have virtually no knowledge, discernment, or wisdom in spiritual matters.
We are living today in America in a spiritual wasteland!
But what are we told in the Bible? We are to pursue Christ with all our hearts and all our minds and all our souls. We are to love him and serve him, and we are to be holy because he is holy. We are to practice self-discipline, we are to study the Word to show ourselves approved, and we are to grow in sanctification.
We are to become more and more knowledgeable about God’s Word, doctrine, parables, and Bible prophesy. We are not to be ignorant, and we are not to remain ignorant.
Is it any wonder that America has fallen to such evil? We have had so few genuine believers standing watch. We have had such a minority standing against evil, exposing it, and shouting the Truth out loud. Where are the brave believers so desperately needed today? Where is courage? Where is wisdom?
At the slightest criticism, christians cow tow. A stern word from an atheist stops a christian in their tracks. The word “conspiracy” shuts a christian up faster than you say the word. Christians in America are not only timid, they lack knowledge to put up even a decent argument for their faith.
Deception of the masses is easy when people are ignorant. Deception is so easy when people have no knowledge of the depth of the Word of God, and when they have lost the ability to discern right from wrong, and when they have no moral compass any longer.
As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of people, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, that is, Christ. Ephesians 4:14-15 (NASB 2020)
It’s time for christians around America to wake up and start digging deeply into the Word of God, to learn how to read it and how to study it for themselves. If pastors are not going to teach you some of the deepest most amazing spiritual truths God wanted you to know, perhaps you should seek them out yourself. God has given you his Word, and it’s in English. You have plenty of Bible study tools to help you. What are you waiting for?
For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, even penetrating as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 (NASB 2020)
